History
Bolle's heritage dates back to over a century ago...
The brands team, led by Maurice Bolle the Grandson of Bolle's original
founder, has brought a fresh European face to the brands eyewear
collections. Here's a timeline that spans over 120 years marking Bolle's
milestone anniversary.

- 1888 – Creation of the ‘Maison Séraphin Bollé’ – a business
producing combs and hair ornaments in celluloid, a material that was
to become the company’s base product
- 1936 – The first sunglasses and frames are made of celluloid
- 1940 – Georges Bollé adopts a new technology: the injection
machine that will become a major innovation in the manufacturing of
sunglasses
- 1946 – Production of the first pair of sunglasses with nylon
frames
- 1960 – Production of the first pair of ski sunglasses
- 1968 – The beginning of sports sponsorship: Jean-Claud Killy
joins the Bollé Team
- 1993 – Following on from developments in the pharmaceutical
industry, Bollé creates a system of grading levels of sunglasses
protection
- 2000 – Bollé is bought out by Bushnell Performance Optics 2005 –
Distribution of Bollé prescription sunglasses
- 2006 – Launch of a collection of Bollé Optics – optical frames
- 2009 – Launch of a line of ski helmets

All models come complete with either B 20.3 Polycarbonate or B Toric
lenses, their polycarbonate lenses are cut from light weight, premium
grade resin that's more impact resistant than glass as well as being 3x
lighter. Bolle's unique Toric lenses are cut so that they sit close to
the contours of your face while enhancing your peripheral vision,
available on the
Warrant and
Faze models.
