History
The Bvlgari's descend from a family of silver smiths, whose trade began
in the small quaint village of Epirus, it was here that the family
founder (Sotirio) manufactured precious silver objects. In the late 19th
century, Sotirio moved to Italy where he set up his first shop in 1884,
situated in via Sistina Rome.
In 1905, with the assistance of his sons Costantino and Giorgio he
introduced the shop in via Condotti, which still remains Bvlgari's
flagship store.
During the early 20th century, the two brothers developed an interest and
expertise in precious stones and gradually took over their father's role
of management within the business.
The end of the Second World War marked a change in the history of the
brand, representing a turning point for the company who decided to break
away from the anal rules of the French goldsmith school to create their
own individual and unique style.

In the 1970s, Bvlgari began international expansion with the opening of
its first overseas store in New York, swiftly followed by others in
Paris Geneva and Monte Carlo. A decade later and Giorgio's two sons
Paolo and Nicola Bvlgari became Chairman and Vice Chairman of the ever
expanding company.
By the late 90's the brand was listed on the Milan stock exchange and now
produced silk ties and scarves, later followed by leather goods and
eyewear collections.
