Lennon under the Hammer

While we at Sunglasses Shop could never afford a piece of Beatles memorabilia, one lucky individual, will have the opportunity to purchase a pair of John Lennon sunglasses at auction next week.

John Lennon gave the sunglasses to his uncle Charlie Lennon, who later sold them to friend Larry Warren along with a cowboy hat. The Italian frames are expected to fetch £4,000 while the hat ' which John wore during a 1965 tour of the US ' is estimated at £8,000.

Larry told The Mirror, 'Charlie died about 10 years ago so it is time to move these things on.

'John bought him the hat, but it was too big for him and he liked to humiliate him about it ' but in a nice way.

'He gave him the Italian sunglasses at his home in Surrey in 1967 after they had been out in the sun at a swimming pool.'

The auction house added, 'These classic pieces are from the height of John's career.'

If you too dream of owning a pair of John Lennon sunglasses, you're in luck because we've compiled a list of pieces that perfectly embody his iconic sixties styling and sensibilities. From a The Row to a Persol pair, we think John would have approved of all these items and hope you do too.
