Oliver Philip Goldsmith first started designing in the sixties after he realised that none was designing sunglasses as fashion accessories. He introduced the use of acetate in producing his fun and fashionable frames, inspiring countless copies by everyone from Gucci to Ray-Ban. Word spread and so did his client list, which name checked everyone from Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn to Michael Cain and Sophia Loren.

For years Oliver Goldsmith had a cult following among the most stylish men and women the sixties had to offer. He designed bespoke pieces for Hollywood both on and off screen and his custom designs appeared on fashion magazines around the world. But in 1976 Oliver Goldsmith suddenly closed its doors and the beloved label disappeared. That is until in 2005 after his granddaughter Claire Goldsmith rediscovered the brand and decided to re-release classic designs from its archives.
