Giorgio Armani started his career as a window dresser in a department store in Milan and who could of predicted such big things?
He was a determined young man and knew that designing was his passion. From window dressing he became the departments store menswear buyer, which enabled him to learn about the industry. With the knowledge gained he went on to design for Nino Cerruti and he also dabbled in freelance designing. His career was taking off and it was in the 1960s that he met Sergio Galeotti, a great duo. The pair collaborated and were successful with their designs, Giorgio Armani designed for many fashion houses in this period.

It was in 1976 that Armani presented his first collection and with his freelance work a success, there was a lot of interest in his collection. Not long after this Giorgio Armani became a full blown brand. His menswear was such a huge success, Armani then transferred his masculine tailoring, to make stunning womenswear. This is a man who really understands how to make a suit sexy! Simplicity and minimalism are always key throughout his collections, offering elegance combined with down-to-earth style.
