Gucci Sunglasses

Gucci is one of Italy’s most powerful heavyweights and has garnered glowing reviews for its contemporary and classical sunglasses collection, which is the choice of Angelina Jolie, Mariah Carey and other stylish celebrities. Gucci defines luxury and for the last several decades has been available in the form of eyewear. Webbed handbags and horse bit loafers have long been the must-have accessory, but for the past several years, Gucci sunglasses have taken over as the fashion statement of Italy’s fashionistas.

The brand retains its sustainability by producing heritage enriched models that represent a slice of the brand’s history, and celebrate a commitment to stylish luxury, which has made the Gucci name synonymous with Italian beauty and craftsmanship. Traditional Gucci icons such as Gucci Flora and Gucci bamboo are featured throughout the collection and make a stunning addition to any wardrobe.

In 1947, Gucci developed its first ever bamboo-handled bag whose bamboo has been introduced to every kind of accessory since, including the Gucci 3130. This elegantly round frame features bevelled contours for a refined, polished look. Bamboo decorations sit in-between the temples amidst shiny silver embellishments. Bamboo-inspired patterning has branded many a Gucci product over the years, but this subtle decoration is hand carved from genuine bamboo, which has been wittily carved for multi-dimensional texture.

Craftsman came up with the idea of a bamboo-handled handbag by way of thinking their way around war-time shortages. Once the bamboo was articulated and attached to the bag using several metal loops, the bamboo handle became a piece of design history that can also be found on Gucci model 3132. This sophisticated square sunglass is made from thick wide-cut acetate to accommodate the bamboo horse bit temple detail, which would make a welcome addition to any wardrobe. Bamboo stakes its place in the fashion of the moment and is an instant hit of what’s hot right now. Equally hot is Gucci 2875, a visor adaptation of this stunning square model.

The GG logo wasn’t introduced until the early sixties – as either single or double Gs. It first appeared as squared-off fastenings for handbags which were developed and made in Via delle Caldaie, Florence. ‘The GG monogram transported the company’s fame, quite literally, around the globe in the much-photographed company of movie-stars, aristocrats and socialites’ says Gucci, whose elite clientele includes Angelina Jolie and Mariah Carey.

Interlacing double Gs make Gucci sunglasses instantly recognisable and feature on the temple of Gucci 3126 and 3125 sunglasses. The double interlacing logo has been reconfigured and redesigned on a number of occasions, it’s been done in silver and gold, gold and silver, but nothing quite compares to the stunning elegance of this butterfly shaped design. Merged onto a Gucci monogram the interlacing double G logo looks utterly luxurious. Gucci 3125 is a slightly smaller more toned down version of the Gucci 3126, which is unashamedly glamorous. Another recent Gucci model that features the legendary double mark is Gucci 3119, a faux prescription frame that adds instant specs appeal to any ensemble that would nicely coincide with a leather bamboo-handled tote.

Last but by no means is least is the Gucci horse bit that was first used on heavy tan saddle-stitched bags in the 1950s. Horse bits have been miniaturised and maximised as luxury Gucci hardware ever since. Gucci 3105 sunglasses, for example, are forged using horse bit components that re-create temple. The horse bit also plays a crucial role in the making of Gucci 3098, a rounder version of the previous 3105 model. Gucci snaffles have graced the face of Jamie Fox and Tom Cruise in the past, and when these new female versions were made available this year, they became the choice of sophisticated women looking for a luxurious kind of comfort.
