Gucci 3016
We haven't featured Rihanna in our celebrity archives since she was allegedly beaten by her current boyfriend Chris Brown. Since the attack, past pictures of Rihanna have been printed in media publications across the world, the above images in particular. Thankfully these images show the singer injury free, unlike the shocking photograph that showed the horrific injuries Rihanna sustained after her so called traffic mishap.
As seen in Grazia's 16 March 2009 issue, Rihanna's wearing Gucci's 3016 sunglasses in black (above). The name Gucci immediately conjures up thoughts of lavish luxury, status, class, sophistication and big celebrity names like Tom Cruise and Angelina Jolie, leaving us fashion struck with tessellations of interlocking double G logos in our eyes and hand bags swirling around our heads. If your one of the few people in life who settle for the ordinary rather than the extraordinary than stop here... Gucci eyewear is strictly for the epicure who wants all of their dreams to become a realisation. Gucci sunglasses are so much more than a convenience and are the vital attire of the fashionista and the discerning man who both recognise the brands accessories as a premiere luxury. Gucci expanded it's design portfolio to the eyewear industry way back in 1989 when the brand debuted its first ever eyewear collection and Gucci sunglasses have been gracing the faces of the world's best dressed ever since.

Gucci's 3016 model isn't for everybody as it's chunky, cutting edge lines and angles will appear unworkable to someone who doesn't know how to utilise statement pieces. We were surprised when we discovered that this highly contemporary item was the vision of the Gucci fashion house as the brand is worldly known as classical and timeless with strict design rules that are not often wandered from, yet the 3016 has incorporated a sense of futurism as well as attractive traditional touches. Rihanna's sunglasses compliment her face as she has an oblong/round face type and the 3016 plays down the length of her face by covering the centre and the severity of the angles and arm detailing detracts the eye from her long cheekbones. We love how the grey oblique shaped lenses are juxtaposed in the unsurpassed, square face that over exaggerates the lines and brow line of the original square wayfarer which is evidently Gucci's inspiration. A world class prestigious fashion power house meets one of the most successful eyewear design in history, the things that eyewear fantasies are made of. Just in case you were in any doubt about the 3016s creator, a gold calligraphic Gucci signature can be found on each arm. A luxe touch and winning colour combination that emphasises authenticity. The wayfarer is an unparalleled style that refuses to go away and we're certain that this luxuriant Gucci version will prove as equally popular.
Update - So popular in fact that Grazia have used the frame on one of their gorgeous models in a centre page spread, issue 23 March 2009.
Since Chris Brown was charged with assaulting Rihanna, the couple have gotten back together, recorded a duet together, and now Rihanna is trying to get out of testifying against Chris in court!
Chris' lawyer, Mark Geragos, has requested a meeting with the judge dealing with the assault case to discus Rihanna's possible silence in the court room.
Rihanna's attorney, Donald Etra, is in agreement with the request and both lawyers believe that Rihanna's position was compromised when information about the case was leaked and that she should no longer be the subject of public scrutiny.
