Rock chic, The Runaways way

As seen in Grazia magazine September 2010, Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart are photographed in Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses.
The duo star in new movie The Runaways, based on the Seventies band of the same name. The film is based on the rise and fall memoire by Cherrie Curie (Dakota Fanning) which openly documents her relationship with fellow band member Joan Jett (Kristen Stewart).
While the music plays an important part in The Runways, the fashion is second.
Both girls appear during the The Runaways wearing Ray-Ban Aviators throughout the course of the film, continuing the strong bond between cool shades and rock n'' roll.
Sunglasses and rock music have always evolved together. During the American rock and roll boom in the late 1940s and early 1950s, musical icons such as Chuck Berry, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley sported their shades with pride.
The Aviator is the bestselling frame of the Ray-Ban sunglasses collection. It was originally designed for US military fighter pilots in 1937, to protect them from glare at high altitude. Today it is the ultimate provider of style and cool, yet still reflects the importance of anti-glare and UV protective technology.
These sunglasses only used to come in one or two colours, black, silver and gold. But after realising that the Aviator was such a huge success, Ray-Ban began to incorporate more colours as part of its most iconic design.
Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses may have been popularised by rock royalty, but these days they are an icon in their own right. So why not take inspiration from the punk-pop queens The Runaways by digging out those Ray-Ban Aviators and throwing on your favourite rock frock'' Go on, you know you want to.
