Designer Pudseys Raise Thousands for Children in Need

Nineteen designer Pudsey bears created by top fashion designers such as Prada, Burberry, and Victoria Beckham brought in £152,000 at a Christies auction in London for the Children in Need charity. Tom Ford’s take on Pudsey of course sported a custom pair of gold aviator sunglasses along with white suit, polkadot dickie bow and shirt, croc shoes and panama.

Models Cara Delevingne, Abbey Clancy, Chloe Moretz and Liberty Ross showed off the couture cuddlies as the bidding commenced.

Tom Ford bear took £12,000 whilst Burberry’s went for £9,000. The Burberry bear came replete with a quilted leather body, trenchcoat, brown suede eyepatch and duck-headed brollie. Pudsey by Alexander McQueen was embellished with tiny flowers and was sold for £8,500. Victoria Beckham’s bear was in leather and matched her eyepatch with her rose pink dress, naturally.

Pudsey has never looked so good also receiving make-overs from Dior, Gucci and Versace. The top bid was for Gile’s Swarovski encrusted bear at £24,000.

There are several bears still available including several printed Pudseys designed by Nicholas Ghesquire for , some of the last designs he has produced before his imminent departure from the house.
