Poults Pulls Through

Four Behind

It's not surprising so many pro golfers don Oakley sunglasses. The visual tech Oakley piles into them grants players accurate, clear vision wherever they are. Just ask Ian Poulter. The Englishman called upon his trusty Oakley golf sunglasses as he sealed the WGC Champions title.

It took a formidable finish from Poulter to snatch victory at Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen, China. Starting four behind overnight leaders Lee Westwood and Louis Oosthuizen, Poulter occupied fourth spot going into the final day. However, he flew out of the traps with four birdies in the first nine holes.

Going into the back nine, Westwood's lead began to look all the more tenuous. On the 11th hole, Poulter was able to edge ahead with another birdie. From then on, there was no looking back as he strolled to a seven-under 65 finish.

Victory Charge

Poulter's putting prowess was tested with a tricky 20-footer on the 15th hole. However, he wasn't to be denied as he calmly carded yet another birdie. Finally, a tricky bunker shot rescued par on the final hole handed the Oakley pro a superb victory. Meanwhile, Jason Dufner, Scott Piercy, Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson all finished five-under 65 to tie second. Westwood and Oosthuizen had to make do with joint sixth.

Success hasn't exactly been in short supply for Oakley golfers. On 29th October, world number one Rory McIlroy beat Tiger Woods in an exclusive exhibition match dubbed "The Duel". Using his Oakley eyewear, McIlroy also put in a fine display to see off his American opponent at Jinsha Lake GC in Zhengzhou, China. It's a good time to be donning Oakleys right now...
