Loeb's Magic Nine
It's been coming for a while now. But finally Seb Loeb has made history once again by winning his ninth World Rally Championship in a row. Victory in his home Rally in Alsace, France gave him an insurmountable 71 point cushion at the top of the standings. It was a double celebration too, with Citroen claiming their eighth constructors title.
To win the WRC 2012 title, Loeb needed to finish ahead of Citroen team-mate Mikko Hirvonen. But he wasn't about to get complacent. He simply slipped on his Oakley sunglasses and turned on the style, finishing 15.5 seconds clear of Jari-Matti Latvala. Hirvonen finished behind Latvala in third. Loeb's taming of the French countryside gave him a milestone 75th WRC win, and his eighth win from 11 events this season.

Oakley Jupiter Squared sunglasses have been a favourite with Loeb this year as he blasted his way to a ninth title...
"It has been a great moment. We had been dreaming of it since the weekend began, it is pure happiness," Loeb told reporters.
Putting his superiority into context reveals just how good the Oakley man is. The Frenchman nearest rival on the WRC winners' list is Marcus Gronholm, with a still-legendary total of 30 wins.
Loeb has confirmed that he won't return to defend his title in 2013. Instead, he'll take on a part-time schedule alongside Daniel Elena. The pair are also expected to represent Citroen in the World Touring Car series.
