Oakley Ducati Collections

I could immediately spot a Ducati pair of shades, the Ducati range is instantly recognisable by the red “O” and red detailing on the arms. It’s a classy finishing touch, one that I absolutely love! It really stands out and I think it gives these sunglasses a trendy, cutting edge style!

The Ducati comes in quite a few different frames, the Straight Jacket, Fives Squared, Juliet, Gascan, Jupiter and the Inmate. Each of them incorporates Ducati’s individual flair in a different way. My particular favourite is the Jupiter, I love the modern styling of this frame and the Ducati element makes this über cool, the red detailing is really striking and is a real head turner.

The Ducati motorbikes are fast paced, sleek, aerodynamic and beautiful looking, so the sunglasses have got to mimic this attributes. Therefore only the very best of the Oakley range has been selected to incorporate the Ducati detailing. These successful frames have had added finesse and have a stylish upper hand compared to other glasses.

One concept that really impressed me with the Ducati frames was the fact they were still made out of the ultra light weight hi-modulus C-5 frame material. I like the fact that Oakley didn’t think that just because the sunglasses have Ducati on them, it was acceptable to lower the standards of these sunnies, they didn’t think that they could make a below average pair of sunglasses, stick the Ducati emblem on them and hope they would sell. Oakley have yet again excelled them selves and kept up the standards with the added Ducati bonus.

As Oakley has high standards, you’ll be pleased to know that the lenses on all Ducati frames have optimised peripheral vision and side protection with twin toric lens curvature. This is all aided by Oakley’s 3 point fit that uses unobtainium earsocks, meaning the sunglasses stay put, giving you precise optical alignment; the optical performance and precision on the Ducati range meets all ANSI Z80.3 standards and ANZI Z80.3 standards.

The UV protection you get with the Ducati range is also exceptional; the lenses are made from pure plutonite. The pure plutonite lenses filter out 100 percent of all UV rays and even harmful blue light. Another concept that sets these sunnies aside from anything I have ever tried before.

Oakley Ducati Gascan

These powerful advanced sunglasses feature the Ducati Corse emblem inside the stem and a Ducati red O on the temple. Similar to the Oakley Canteen the Gascan is technological and ahead of its time but is more simplistic and blunt in design. A square wrap around frame that may also be used for skiing.

The Oakley Straight Jacket recognises the talent of young Australian motor cross champion Casey Stoner who rode to victory on a Ducati Desmosedici GP7.
This special edition frame features 'Stoner 27' lasered onto the lens and the temples are designed in the winning Ducati red.

Oakley Ducati Square Wire

The name says it all, the Ducati Square Wire adds to Oakley's prestigious reputation with its angular square lens, wrap around frame and wire like arms which increase their grip when sweat is detected. 
As a salute to Ducati Oakley have given this firm favourite a make over with Ducati red tips, logo and features the Ducati name on the bottom of the lens.

The light weight alloy frame is what makes the Ducati Square Wire so comfortable and its temple sleeves increase in grip when sweat is detected. You probably won't have realised that the Square Wire's curved back lenses aren't just stylish they actually enhance the wearers peripheral view.

Oakley Juliet Ducati

The Juliet is an Oakley classic that's been given a  Ducati make over and this unique frame has to be seen to be believed, an X Metal frame designed to fit naturally around the wearers head.
Oakley's Juliet consists of 25 pieces of X Metal and features interchangeable nosebombs, the intake ports and orbitals around the lenses have been designed to maintain the precise properties of Oakley's XYZ Optics.
