The Soloist
Oliver Peoples ‘The Soloist’ is created in collaboration with TAKAHIROMIYASHITA, an emerging fashion label founded by Japanese designer Takahiro Miyashita.
Having also founded popular menswear brand Number (N)ine, Takahiro is praised in the men’s fashion world as a true visionary. His talent combined with the vintage aesthetic of Oliver Peoples has resulted in The Solisit series.

The two collaboration frame range are double-bridge aviators, one optical and one sunglass. The sunglass is a teardrop metal aviator offered in four colours paired with carefully selected, high quality polarised glass lenses for excellent vision in all conditions. Also on the filigreed metal eye is a pattern that is a reproduction of the original Oliver Peoples rim – a design first seen almost 25 years ago. But the most unusual thing about these sunglasses is that the silicone brow bar and temple plaques are made from unused stock parts from three decades ago. The rarity of the vintage parts makes these precious pieces a true collector’s item.
Oliver Peoples Founder and Creative Director Larry Leight said ‘The frames feel like a culmination of the many lessons I’ve learned over the years of designing with new and old technology,’
'The styles are completely unique and at the moment they are hard for me to take off. I just really love them!’
The Solist sunglass is available at Sunglasses Shop as part of the SS2012 collection.
