Porsche

Two things come to mind when mentioning Porsche. The first thing - flawless design. Porsche products go hand in hand with high-quality workmanship. That’s all thanks to Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, grandson of the Porsche founder and designer of the Porsche 911.

Professor Porsche’s design philosophy is perfectly embodied by the 911. The most classic of classic sports cars, the Porsche 911 is loved worldwide for its sleek, well crafted aesthetics. And the same can be said for the rest of Porsche’s design catalogue.

The second thing - brilliance of function. Porsche products are forged from years of design experience and Porsche know that with any product, it’s ultimate function must never be forgotten. The marriage of design and function is consistent throughout Porsche’s product range and Porsche have become internationally recognised as a result.

The “Porsche Design” brand has a few decades under its belt. Professor Porsche established The Porsche Design Studio in Stuttgart in 1972, which was later relocated to Zell am See, Austria, in 1974. In the years that followed, a number of classic men’s accessories such as watches, eyeglasses, and writing utensils were created and marketed worldwide under the “Porsche Design” brand. Like the Porsche 911, every product from the Porsche Design Studio goes through a rigorous design phase. That’s why Porsche specialise in producing design classics. Not many brands can say that.

Porsche Design’s eyewear range is constructed from materials of the highest quality and come in a unique design. Carefully selected materials, the latest, up-to-the-minute technology, engineering to perfection and high comfort typify Porsche eyewear. The right eyewear for every occasion.

Porsche Design Sunglasses express the highest demands of innovation, workmanship and design. Featuring outstanding UV protection, lens quality that surpasses the competition, perfect fit and one-of-a-kind design, Porsche sunglasses are designed to be different.

At the same time as producing men’s accessories, Porsche designed and created numerous industrial products, household appliances, and consumer goods – even streetcars for the city of Vienna – all under the “Design by F.A. Porsche" brand for internationally known clients.

Porsche products are defined by their flawless, inimitable design and ease of function. All of the Studio’s design work is distinguished by clarity and functionality of form, careful selection of materials, and high-quality workmanship that combines traditional craftsmanship with state-of-the-art technology. Since 2005 all products have been developed and marketed under the brand name Porsche Design.

Porsche has been producing car-related accessories for more than 50 years. As early as the 1950s, luggage series, purses, T-shirts, calendars, model cars, and buttons – even tie pins and cufflinks – specially developed for the 911 were being offered in the “Porsche Boutique”. These items were sold in Porsche Centers all over the world and at such events as the Carrera Cup. In 1994 the merchandising division of Porsche AG finally acquired the name “Porsche Selection”, which was changed to “Porsche Design Driver’s Selection” in 2004.
