Serengeti and Aston Martin Join Forces

Serengeti, self-proclaimed makers of the world’s finest driving sunglasses, have joined forces with Jota Sport Aston Martin Racing for the racing team’s up and coming season.

The teaming also marks the start of a technical collaboration between the two, aimed at identifying and developing driver specific optical technologies.

Jota Sport, the official Aston Martin Racing partner team will step up its sports car programme in 2011 by running an Aston Martin Vantage GT2 in the Le Mans Series and, possibly in motorsport’s greatest race, the Le Mans 24 Hours too.

All the drivers and crew will be supplied with Serengeti eyewear.

Andrew Grose, UK MD of Bushnell Performance Optics, who manufacture Serengeti, said: “We’re really excited about the opportunity to partner with Jota Sport, one of the world’s leading international sports car teams and with a car that is such a globally successful brand, Aston Martin.

“We understand that whether it is in their road or race cars, the Jota Sport drivers face challenging conditions including intense sunlight and glare, abrupt changes in cloud cover and sudden reductions in visibility. Serengeti lenses increase the ability to pick out details, colour and contrast, far and near. Vision is crisp and clear with optical clarity second to none. It brings an added element of safety and a natural choice for drivers of all types of vehicle.”

Serengeti are also no strangers to world-class sporting achievement. It was Preferred Supplier to the victorious European Ryder Cup golf team in 2010.

But one question on our lips here at Sunglasses Shop is will the racing drivers be able to appreciate the top lens technology as all that blurred scenery races past? Of course they will.
