The Serengeti Mare

Shiny Gunmetal / Polar PhD CPG

Serengeti surpass all their competition. They are by far the most technologically advanced brand there is in the sunglasses industry and if you require exceptional optics, and only the best is good enough, we will always recommend them!

Here’s a little about why Serengeti are the true masters of the eyewear industry...

All Serengeti sunglasses are photochromic, meaning the lenses react to UV light, so you obtain perfect vision, whatever the outdoor conditions. Unlike other photochromic lenses, Serengeti’s also react to normal light, meaning they adapt even inside a car behind your windscreen (even though your windscreen also has a UV filter)

With such high quality coming as standard you’ll also be pleased to note that every single pair of Serengeti sunglasses come with an anti-reflective coating preventing light bouncing back into your eye! Impressive stuff!

But as we mentioned previously Serengeti surpass all their competition- this is because their lenses are second to none. They are virtually 100% UVA and UVB resistant and eradicate blue light, meaning optics are crisper and clearer- this is also less stress on the eyes and your brain as blue light is hard to interpret. All Serengeti lenses actually start off clear- atoms are then fired at the lenses to create the colour, meaning each lens is exactly the same colour, unlike lenses that have been tinted.

The CPG, or cool photo grey lens, is ideal for all weather conditions, particularly harsh glare, with its exceptional polarisation properties, it’s clearly not timid when it comes to maximum protection!

Designed to bend to the contours of your face, the Wire-Flex frames feature a highly flexible and strong blend of nickel, silver and stainless steel. The result is a fit that feels truly customised.

Evolved from the proven NCT lens platform, Serengeti’s exclusive Polar PhD lens combines the latest in Polarisation and photochromic lens technologies with their proprietary Spectral Control technology. And by engineering the polarisation layer into the back of the lens they’ve managed to avoid delaminating and deterioration inherent with traditional film-based polarisation. This advanced technology provides 98% polarisation efficiency while automatically lightening and darkening to suit the conditions, giving the user years of uncompromised performance.

Serengeti

Serengeti is now the official supplier to the Aston Martin Jota Sport racing team and if you want sunglasses that could just be the best you’ll ever wear, then taking a look at the world through the eyes of Serengeti will do you no harm. Serengeti was born in Florida in 1985, and went straight to the top with its incredible lens technology and general innovation in eyewear. Here are photochromic lenses, smart polarisation and clever spectral control (this helps with contrast and definition) among so much else. Because of these, Serengeti are naturally suited to drivers and aviators – for those places where your eyes must be at their most comfortable. And of course when it comes to technology they didn’t forget about the frame either.

Serengeti was also the first to offer photochromic sunglasses lenses. These are the ones that lighten and darken depending on the amount of UV in the air. In fact, Serengeti is the pioneer of this technology. Every Serengeti lens has it and combined with Serengeti’s Spectral Control Filters only Serengeti has it.
The photochromic and Spectral Control filters in Serengeti’s glass lenses are molecularly engineered in the glass itself too, so they’ll never wear off or wear out. A Serengeti lens improves contrast, reduces eye fatigue and increases definition and comfort as they help fine tune your vision.

Serengeti lives to be worn.
