The man who is after Sir Chris Hoy’s title... French sprinter and world champion in track cycling Gregory Bauge is looking for Olympic Gold.  But that means beating the world’s fastest Olympian on two wheels, Sir Chris.

Starting cycling in 2000, Gregory realised his talents lay on the track rather than the road and started a career that has led him to seven world championships in track cycling.

At the beginning of 2012 it was announced that Bauge would be stripped of all his winnings of 2011 for missing three doping tests.  It meant surrendering two of his world titles (reducing nine titles to seven).  But Bauge has already regained the championship for the sprint in 2012.

Bauge is one of the few people to have beaten Hoy in the sprint in recent years and rides in the sprint and team sprint events, where he specialises in the first leg.
