Hans Rey, Bio

Born: 4th June 1966

Home: Laguna Beach, California, USA

Hans Rey is a living legend of extreme mountain biking. Inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame in 1999, Hans won an impressive number of bike trials championships throughout his career but retired in 1997 to take cycling to a whole new level.

As part of the "Hans Rey Adventure Team", Hans has travelled the world extensively using his lifetime of cycling experience to ride over previously thought unrideable terrain, even riding the inhospitable hills of Machu Picchu in South America.

Being one of Adidas's sponsored athletes, Adidas have a true pioneer of extreme mountain biking on their team. Hans made a name for himself outside the cycling scene with TV appearances and film roles. He even took part in the closing ceremony of the 1996 Olympics.

When he's not riding through exotic locations, Hans focuses on his philanthropic activities. In 2005 Hans Rey founded Wheels4Life, a non-profit charity organisation that provides bicycles to people in need of transportation in Third World countries.
