Known as "The Bison", Juanjo Cobo is a powerful and competitive cyclist hailing from the Cantabria region of Spain.

Cobo turned professional back in 2004, and has gone on to challenge for major honours every season. His power and determination often gives him the edge, particularly when he enters a mountain stage during a race. The Spaniard is also an accomplished time trial rider.

Perhaps the finest example of Cobo's climbing prowess came in Vuelta a Espana in 2011. Under intense pressure, "The Bison" dug deep and conquered the Spanish mountains to take victory. Cobo seems to improve with every race, and is widely regarded as one of the most balanced riders around.
