Sir Chris Hoy MBE, Bio.
Born: 23rd March 1976
Home: Edinburgh, UK
Sir Chris Hoy MBE is one of the UK's most recognisable sportsmen. The Scottish star has won title after title in what has been one of the greatest sporting careers. And judging by his sheer desire to win, he's not letting up any time soon.
In the colours of Team GB, Hoy has been a dominant force in track cycling for over a decade. He is not only Scotland's most successful Olympian ever, but also the most successful Olympic male cyclist ever.
One hundred years after the first, and last, athlete to win three gold medals at an Olympics, Hoy did just that. The man from Edinburgh swept the keirin and sprint titles, before teaming up with Jason Kenny and Jamie Staff. Then Hoy led the British side to the team sprint title and round off a memorable Olympic Games. In light of his phenomenal achievements, Hoy was awarded a Knighthood in 2009. A fitting title for an athlete who has dedicated his life to being the best.
