Born: 18th November 1987
Home: Gig Harbour, Washington, USA
Talented players may be in abundance on the other side of the pond, but few have shone as brightly as Kyle Stanley. The promising Nike youngster rose to prominence by winning the Waste Management Phoenix Open 2012. However, Stanley has been working his way up the ladder for quite a while.
While at Clemson University in 2009, Stanley won the prestigious Ben Hogan Award for excellence on the golf course as well as in education. He followed this up by turning professional in 2009, and earned his PGA Tour card in 2011. He enjoyed a superb debut season too, storming to four top-ten finishes. This included a second-placed finish at the John Deere Classic.
Stanley's 2012 season didn't just herald victory in Phoenix. He also came within a whisker of taking the Farmers Insurance Open, losing out to Brandt Snedeker in a tense play-off. Expect Stanley to step up and collect more trophies in his Nike sunglasses.
