Carl Pettersson, Bio.

Born: 29th August 1977
Home: Raleigh, North Carolina

A thumping drive, precise chipping and an uncanny ability to putt under pressure. It's all in Carl Pettersson's game. The big Swede has called America his home now since he was a teenager, but his passion for golf developed back home in Gothenburg. His father's job as a lorry driver saw Pettersson move onto Britain before settling in the US. And that's where things really took off.

By 2000, Pettersson had turned pro. He didn't have to wait long for his maiden victory either. It came just two years into his career, at the 2002 Algarve Open de Portugal. Three years later, Nike pro Pettersson won the Chrylser Championship in Florida, his first PGA Tour title. He managed an incredible chip on the 15th hole and a brilliant tee-shot on the 16th, setting himself up to close out.

Pettersson's win in the 2012 RBC Heritage was certainly momentous. It meant he was level with Jesper Parnevik for the most wins by a Swedish player on the PGA Tour. His putting game was at it's best as he sank five birdies in a row for a comfortable win.
