Anna Watkins, Bio.
Born: 13th February 1983
Home: Wokingham, UK
Britain has a phenomenal record for producing some of the world's greatest rowers. Among them stands Anna Watkins. Right now, Watkins and regular crew-mate Katherine Grainger are one of the fastest pairings hitting the water.
Confirmation of their status as true champions came in the World Rowing Championships in 2010. After narrowly missing out on gold in 2009, Watkins rowed hard to take the gold. It was a case of more of the same in 2011 too, as Watkins and her compatriot Grainger roared to back-to-back titles.
As well as impressing on the world stage, Oakley pro Watkins has had some success at Olympic level. In Beijing, Watkins and crew-mate Elise Laverick took bronze. They missed out on the gold by just 0.23 seconds. At London 2012, Watkins teamed up with Katherine Grainger to win gold in the women's two sculls.
