Winter X-Games 2012 Preview
We've reached that time again when the January blues are blasted away to make way for the excitement of the Winter X-Games. Here at Sunglasses Shop, we'll bring you the lowdown on the athletes, re-cap on a memorable 2011 Winter X-Games and guide you through this year's event, which runs from 26th to the 29th January.
We're absolutely chomping at the bit to the likes of Shaun White go to Aspen and throw down some gravity-defying tricks that leave us all wondering just how much further snow sport can be pushed. Add Shaun White's rivals for the Men's Superpipe snowboard competition, like Dragon's Danny Davis and Scotty Lago, into the equation and you've got an unbelievable battle.

The Women's Superpipe snowboard event will also see world-class stars such as Gretchen Bleiler, Hannah Teter and Torah Bright hit the snow to ensure it'll be a Winter X-Games to remember.
As well as seeing all these top riders, it'll also be interesting to see how all the 2012 season's goggles stand up to the immense pressure of the games.
Shaun White's name is enough to stir intrigue among sports fans around the world, and the Oakley rider will be rocking Oakley's stunning Airbrake goggle. Complete with a whole host of goodies including ground-breaking Oakley Polarisation and Oakley's innovative Switchlock technology, guaranteeing Shaun White has stunning vision and adaptability to the unpredictable weather.

Slopestyle king Sage Kostenburg will be relying on the Arnette Mercenary to become number one on the hill at the games. The immensely popular Mercenary goggle boasts F3 Anti-Fog technology, so Kostenburg will spot landings clearly. This is built in to Arnette's tough Dual Vented Vexan Lens to form a goggle that's as durable as it is advanced.
On the ski front, we're looking forward to seeing the Women's Slopestyle and how both Anna Segal and her trusty Bolle Monarch goggle perform. Segal has always impressed us with her never-say-die attitude and daredevil style, and the Bolle Monarch is certainly a good fit for her. The Monarch never fails to deliver under pressure, and has an array of features including Flow Tech Venting to ensure vision is crisp and clear.
We're also in for a treat if this year's Men's Slopestyle lives up to last year's event, and with a line-up that includes Oakley pair Alex Schlopy and Sammy Carlson, we simple can't wait.
With a whole host of top tech and riders, the Winter X-Games 2012 is the action sports event of the season.
