MetalMetal – metal is a common material in sunglass frames. Usually nickel and copper are used as a base material then coated in other various metals including stainless steel and even silver and gold.Serengeti have a metal frame collection with sunglasses made from 3 different materials. Some are made from Monel (nickel and copper), some from stainless steel, and some from titanium. They are all lightweight, durable materials and resistant to corrosion. The titanium frames have a ‘memory’ feature as it will automatically fit back into shape to fit the wearer’s head perfectly. Oakley also has a collection of C-5 frames made from five metal compounds which are again very lightweight and durable. Maui Jim has a stainless steel collection, offering an ultra-lightweight and non-corrosive frame.
