Polarised

Polarised � when light is reflected on shiny materials it becomes polarised. Many sunglasses are now made with polarising filters in order to reduce the amount of light transmission and glare reaching the eyes as much as possible. Bright conditions can cause people to strain their eyes as they have to squint to focus more clearly and the glare can reduce visibility. Therefore, using polarised lenses can create much clearer, comfortable vision for the wearer.

Polarised filters block most planes of light and only allow either horizontal or vertical planes through. This means that when a polarised lens is tilted, the angle has changed and it will either block more light or allow more to get through (depending which angle it is turned to and whether the filter is horizontal or vertical).
