Wayfarer – the wayfarer style was originally designed by Ray Ban in the 1950’s and throughout the decades has been a prominent fashion accessory. Its design is a plastic frame with quite wide arms that used to be tilted. The lenses were a trapezoid shape and the whole design made them very unique. Films such as the Blues Brothers and the 1960’s actress Audrey Hepburn, helped to keep the style popular, although it dipped slightly in the 1970’s and the 1990’s. It’s more modern re-invention in the 21st century was made popular by celebrities and is still one of the most well known and recognised styles in sunglass history. From just two designs in the 1950’s, the newer models are now available in many sizes, varying shapes and a wide range of frame and lens colours, and also polarised lenses. Frame colours include red, white and even camouflage green and orange. The lenses are available in grey, green, brown and gradient colours and sizes range from 47mm to 54mm. A folding wayfarer is also available. Most sunglass brands now also have their own versions of this style including Oakley and even designer brands such as Tom Ford and D&G.

Lily Allen
Lily Allen arrives at Heathrow back from her Christmas holiday.
On first glance it looks as though Lily Allen could be wearing Chanel’s brand new 5143 Black on Red from the Chanel Passepoil Collection. Passepoil means outline, the inspiration behind this stunning juxtaposing collection which hones in on Chanel’s love of lightness and combining colour. The acute angular face redefines cute while the arms are lit up with striped rose red that creates an illusive ray of light and aura around the frame.
British bad girl Lily Allen was spotted holidaying on a luxury yacht on the coast of St Barth with her new silver haired boyfriend.
Reports say that the 23 year olds new beau is 45 year old English art gallery owner Jay Jopling, a friend of Lilly’s Dad.
Lilly previously said in an interview that ‘I think I like much older men. I hang out with much older people, I go for dinners at posh places and talk about art. I’m meeting more interesting people who tax my brain.’
Jay Jopling was previously married to art photographer Sam Taylor-Wood, a friend of Sir Elton John. The couple were known as the art worlds golden couple.
In other news, Lily’s still clearly fuming over Katy Perry’s comment about her weight. The Smile singer wrote on her Facebook page ‘I have Katy Perry’s number, someone did me a favour. I’m just waiting for her to open her mouth one more time then it hits Facebook.’
