Visor Sunglasses

Visor sunglasses are heavily features within today’s fashion trends, especially so in the latest season bestsellers from the majority of brands. Patented in the US in 1996, visor sunglasses are easily distinguishable by having one single lens, unlike ‘traditional’ or ‘normal’ sunglasses. Visor means to protect and shield eyes from sunlight, and some all of the versions available on the market certainly do that whether released for function or fashion by a sports brand or designer house. With a large surface area they significantly reduce light and maximise peripheral vision, through curving around the wearers face through the one smooth lens. First designed with athletes in mind, visor sunglasses have been adopted by nearly all major designers – with Oakley leading the way. Dominating Oakley's visor range for function are the Radar’s with superb Oakley technology and engineering sport performance excels. Oakley Livestrong radars in partnership with cycling legend Lance Armstrong are a must have for all cyclists out there –combining expert technology into the single cut lens which wraps round to avoid glare in the corners of your eyes – its no wonder he has won the Tour de France.

Another brand hot on the visor are Rudy project, with visors in styles to aid performance – alongside Oakley, in sailing, golf and cycling – visors seem the way forward for all athletes. Especially true with Rudy Project’s sport mask edger – which takes the idea of the visor to the extreme and uses its potential to the maximum. A perfect example being the sportmask golf which creates a maximum field of vision and eliminates fogging an essential to score well on the course.

However, now in the 21st century sunglasses is more than just a functional item there a fashion necessity and accessory. Fashion houses such as Dior, Chanel and Bvlgari have all incorporated visor’s into their new collections and they have been in high demand ever since. Bvlgari have used visors in a number of their limited edition collections adoring the arms with diamantes and crystals – but keeping the single visor lens clean cut and true to form. Even typical men’s brands such as Police and Armani have featured visors within there releases for some years and due to popular demand we’re positive they’ll continue to do so. Chanel have adopted their quilt and chain effect present in the much sought after bags into the eye wear, imparticular on their visor styles, with chain running across the single visor wrapped lens or quilted leather arms on visor gradient lens. Popular with celebrities designer visors not only show the public what brand your wearing they block the flash from photographers as they wrap round the face, hide tired party eyes as they completely cover the eye and ultimately look great.

Lily Allen
Lily Allen Sunglasses
Lily Allen arrives at Heathrow back from her Christmas holiday.
On first glance it looks as though Lily Allen could be wearing Chanel’s brand new 5143 Black on Red from the Chanel Passepoil Collection. Passepoil means outline, the inspiration behind this stunning juxtaposing collection which hones in on Chanel’s love of lightness and combining colour. The acute angular face redefines cute while the arms are lit up with striped rose red that creates an illusive ray of light and aura around the frame.

British bad girl Lily Allen was spotted holidaying on a luxury yacht on the coast of St Barth with her new silver haired boyfriend.

Reports say that the 23 year olds new beau is 45 year old English art gallery owner Jay Jopling, a friend of Lilly’s Dad.

Lilly previously said in an interview that ‘I think I like much older men. I hang out with much older people, I go for dinners at posh places and talk about art. I’m meeting more interesting people who tax my brain.’

Jay Jopling was previously married to art photographer Sam Taylor-Wood, a friend of Sir Elton John. The couple were known as the art worlds golden couple.

In other news, Lily’s still clearly fuming over Katy Perry’s comment about her weight. The Smile singer wrote on her Facebook page ‘I have Katy Perry’s number, someone did me a favour. I’m just waiting for her to open her mouth one more time then it hits Facebook.’
