A truely unique piece of couture here. They have taken a time-honoured aviator frame, complete with double brow bar, and delightfully added their own flourishes. The spindle arms only extend halfway, giving rise to chunky oblong panels and the nose bridge has been forsaken for some extremely punchy branded metalwork. The Dsquared brothers have well and truely placed their stamp on the aviator sunglass.

Welcome to the long-awaited release of the first eyewear collection from DSquared2. Their designs have been worn by Britney Spears, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Ricky Martin, Nicolas Cage, and Lenny Kravitz. In 2000-2001, Madonna commissioned them to design over 150 pieces for her Drowned World Tour. DSquared2's design was also featured in Britney Spears' Circus tour. Their debut collection of sunglasses feature a diverse selection of styles and their frames are so excitingly unique and fresh that you can easily understand all the media hype surrounding their release. Canadian twin brothers Dean and Dan Caten have operated in the fashion business since 1983 and recently made the conscious decision to branch out into the eyewear market.

Dsquared sunglasses are targeted at real people with real style and exude explosive energy and sex appeal – exclusive to online boutiques and high end stores.

Supermodels Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista are the current face of the combative Dsquared eyewear campaign, along with Make Me a Supermodel host Tyson Beckford.

The key element that defines Dsquared is contrast, a common characteristic within the eyewear collection. Contrasts of shape, dimensions and details, the sunglass pieces are sexy, stylish and yet anti-conformist. Each item is branded but Dsquared eyewear of course speaks for itself and features Dsquared design in its purest form. Male frames alternate between tear-drop-shaped metal to perfectly square-shaped acetate embellished with a touch of gold, while female models are angular and wide. Colours are warm and tinged with tones of red, tortoise, and deep brown.
