Tom Ford Back On Schedule
Tom Ford has revealed that he will offer up a full catwalk show for his next womenswear colection at London Fashion Week. The designer has prefered private viewings to elite gatherings with the only permitted photographer Terry Richardson. So instead of waiting weeks for an image or two to be squeezed out us mere mortals will at least see the new collection in full and find the full show online. We are thrilled that Mr Ford is back on the schedule and hope to see the addition of some sunglasses to the autumn/winter 2013—14 fashion when it is showcased alongside the likes of Burberry, Paul Smith, Erdem and Christopher Kane.
As Vogue reports Ford said "This is going to be for 500 to 1,000 people. Photographers, bloggers - a regular, real show,". "I want to show in London because I now have 100 stores worldwide. The company has jumped and I can no longer service the stores by not showing. So I have to love it and embrace it."
It's not just the business he likes and the world class fashion, Tom Ford has his heart set on settling in the capital and raising his children there too; "I'm very old fashioned, When I was little, I was brought up to say, 'Hello, Mr Ford', 'Hello Mrs so-and-so', 'Sir and ma'am'. I want that for my children… I'm only here 180 days [of the year], but I like the humour, the formality, the manners, the irreverence in England.".
We may have to wait until next month for Ford's ready-to-wear but the designer is here in London right now showing his collection for London Collections : Men as the menswear shows kick off showcasing autumn/winter 2013-14 looks alongside the likes of Alexander McQueen and Burberry. Tom Ford closes proceedings with a party that following a dinner hosted by the collections chair Dylan Jones, Tinie Tempah and Sir Paul Smith.
